Ahriman's Prophecy is a classic styled role playing game which has been compared to Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and other such classics.

Ahriman's Prophecy is a medieval fantasy game with over 40 action packed and intriguing levels of play. You are set in a beautiful and scenic world which is doomed by Ahrimans Prophecy, it is your job to find and destroy Ahriman.

As you progress through the levels you are faced with different choices and battles. You can become either evil or holy, gather other characters to join you on your quest, steal from people and even get married.

If you are not a fan of Final Fantasy 6 or other classic RPGs you may find the graphics a bit dissapointing and the use of only the keyboard rather annoying, but if you are a die hard classic gamer this should just add to its great style.

Ahriman's Prophecy is fantastic. It has a handful of problems (the ending isn't so good, and the main character's spells take some time to access so you wind up getting hit a little more because of it), but overall is really nice.

I spent every spare moment playing it(at the expense of my grades). Anytime I got lost or confused, the forums on Amaranth's website provided the answers so I never got too terribly stuck.

Amaranth has a sequel in the works called Aveyond, due out in Fall 2005. From what I've seen on the website, it looks like an improvement graphically and I am confident that it will be at least as good as Ahriman's Prophecy.

I loved the game. It was definately the best freeware roleplaying game on this site! Love the randomness, the characters, the play, the inventory, the controls, the places! Its graphics and storyline are amazing, and if you dig through their files, you will be amazed of the pictures there! I don't know about you others, but this is definately worth it.

I would have probably not been able to beat the game in less than a week if I would have not used the game guild on the game's website. It really did remind me of Chrono Cross, but the 'journal' feature definately surprised and pleased me. Every roleplayer should have this. Really!

I love the game. It's so addictive. I can't stop playing but right now I'm stuck. This game has all the makings of a superb rpg. With features like:

    - tons of wepons
    - non-stop gaming
    - level ups
    - a great deal of enemies
    - lots of spells for Taliea
    - great story good base
    - lots of charactor dialog

I hope to beat the game. I read somewhere "over 50 hours of gameplay" but that's not true. I've played over 50 hours and I'm still in the Witch's swamp. Well I freed that princess with the glass key but I can't get farther. Best freeware RPG ever!

I never realized what a high replay value this game has, but it's one of the few freeware games I've played more than once, and the only one I've played more than twice. It's definitely the best game I've played that was made on RM2k/RM2k3.

However, I'd recommend visiting the Amaranth website. You can download the complete game with half the filesize there, plus they have goodies for those who want them.

Ahriman's Prophecy reminded me of a lot of the good times I spent on some of the older 2D Final Fantasy’s!

All Except for the combat system but it has an excellent combat system in its own rites and I love active time battles anyway and not having to go into a battle sequence is always good.

This game has an excellent story line, as good as some of the industrially proudest games in shops.

I loved this RPG game. It is very much like Final Fantacy but better. It is a very big game but I think it could have been better with the battle system.

For one, how did you get that battle system because I know you mede it on RPG maker 2000 you must have worked hard to make it.

Too every one who is reading this plese DOWNLOAD IT NOW!

    Thanks for your time!

If you are a RPG fan then this is a classic game that will have you playing the game many times.

I have played it two times now going on three. Many of my friends who don't play RPG say that this is an addictive game to be a freeware game. So I give thanks to Amaranth and the creators of this game, and continue to make great games.

While the game starts out kind of slow and frustrating it soon picks up and never looks back. Take your pick of six playable characters and save the world. Loads of different paths to take to reach the end.

It blew, seriously, the battle system sucked, you're expected to explore the vast maps just to do a few measly quests. Plus, you're so weak. Good job, creator.
