Action

Overview

Debrysis bursts onto the scene as a deliriously fun twist on the arena shooter genre, replacing human protagonists with weapon-mounted vehicles battling bizarre glowing creatures. Early adopters are raving about its pure, unadulterated action that delivers exactly what it promises: explosive vehicular combat with infinite ammunition and satisfying physics. While the limited feedback prevents deeper analysis, the unanimous praise from these early players suggests a remarkably polished experience that understands its core appeal.

The feel of the car is something special - the fact that your rocket blasts can bump you off walls.

Pure Arcade Carnage

At its heart, Debrysis excels through its brilliantly simple premise: you're a car armed to the teeth, destroying everything that moves. The default minigun provides a satisfying stream of bullets, but the real joy comes from discovering the diverse arsenal. Players particularly celebrate the shotgun for close-quarters devastation, the pulse cannon for energy-based destruction, and the classic flamethrower for coating enemies in fire. Yet the undisputed standout is the multi-directional rocket launcher that fires projectiles in several directions simultaneously, creating spectacular screen-filling explosions that redefine chaotic fun.

The vehicle physics elevate the mayhem beyond typical twin-stick shooters. Every weapon impact affects your movement, with rocket recoil realistically nudging your car into walls or away from danger. This creates dynamic moments where skillful players weaponize physics to dodge attacks or reposition during intense firefights. The controls receive universal praise for their responsiveness, ensuring that even during the most frantic battles, your car handles precisely without unexpected glitches.

Addictive Progression and Replayability

Debrysis hooks players through its clever risk-reward scoring system. Your base score gradually increases over time, but the real points come from aggressive play - destroying enemies triggers massive score multipliers. Power-ups like weapon intensifiers temporarily supercharge your arsenal, while the meteor strike ability delivers jaw-dropping area-of-effect devastation. This creates compelling tension between playing cautiously for survival versus diving into danger for higher scores.

The endless pursuit of high scores forms the game's core replay loop. Players report repeatedly returning to top their personal bests, with the social competition aspect adding significant longevity. Seeing friends' scores creates that "one more try" mentality that turns quick sessions into extended playthroughs. Despite its straightforward concept, the combination of varied weapons, satisfying physics, and score-chasing creates surprising depth within its explosive framework.

The arena shooter is probably the greatest genre ever invented. There have been shooters with people (NaaC) and even with circles (Mono) - It seems so logical now, that nobody has used a car as the protagonist. Yes, in this game you drive the deadly arena with weapons strapped to your roof, firing off infinite rounds into slimy strange pulsating glow worms. There are the usual assortment of weapons - minigun being your default. Others include the shotgun, pulse cannon, rocket launcher and always a favourite - the flamethrower. Surprisingly, there is a weapon here which is challenging my perception of the flamethrower as the best weapon ever - in Debrysis you can pick up a weapon which fires - perhaps five or eight - rockets in different directions off your car at the same time. It's insanity, I tell you. The summation of the game wouldn't be complete if it was just a rundown of the weapons and a guarantee of manic, awesome shooterness - but that's all there is really and its oh so fun. Depth can be added when you realise your score increases by itself, but in many-fold when you start killing. Score multipliers can be picked up and even weapon intensifiers can be collected. I could go on about how fun this game is, how amazing it looks and how great it plays, but the short straw is - you really need to experience it. The feel of the car is something special - the fact that your rocket blasts can bump you off walls. The pick-up which launches rockets across the screen - the fact that one pick-up is a meteor strike! I could go on, but the fact is you need to play it to get it. And when you do, its really something grand.

It sure is a great game. Lots of action in such small size. I'm not gonna say much. It is simply 100% worth playing.

I love this game so much! The fact that your car is loaded with infinite ammo is very grand indeed. The controls are very solid and will not glitch up at that crucial moment when you think that one minor error will cost you the game. The replay value is good, especially if other people are playing your game and beat your own high score. There's so much more but the short version is this: Play this game. You will not be sorry.
